Barton 2500 pwns!

First off, yes I know I should have gone for the mobile version, but i'm into that whole instant gratification thing, and Fry's doesn't carry Mobile Athlons here in Phoenix, soooo...


Picked up a 2500+ Barton core, and Abit NF7-S yesterday.... compared to a Biostar board (nForce 2) with an Athlon 2400 t-bred, it has shaved more than 35 minutes off my WU times. Down to 2 hours from ~2 hours 40 minutes. Of course, the chip is overclocked to 2.2ghz right now, and running like a champ.

Ok, I just had to post that and get it out of my system. Maybe now I can finally take 3rd place back in my SETI class. =)

Edit: This brings my 'fleet' up to an Athlon 2500, a 2400, and a 2000 working 24/7. 😀
Edit2: I really must stop being so easily amused...
 
As the current owner of third place in our seti class (Nov 25th, 2003) that sounds like a challenge.
I had moved all but one machine away from SETI, looking for other projects, but I may come back if you want to duke it out some. 🙂
 
Dear lord.... you DO exist! I wasn't sure if the guy who stole 3rd from me actually visited the forums, but now I know and can plan your demise! Of course, I would have to know what kinda crunching power you have at hand before I accept a challenge like that since the boxes listed above are pretty much the extent of my resources. =)
 
Hey, I've been active here since I joined the TeAm, posting at least once a day.

The computers currently at my disposal:
1 P4 2.8 with HT (stock speeds)
1 AMD Barton 2800+ (stock speeds)
1 P4 2.4 @ 2.44GHz (no HT)
1 Athlon 1200 @1300MHz
1 Athlon 800 @ 896MHz (not 24-7) Painfully slow WU times, depresses me.

Looks like the 2.8, 2.4 and 1300 would be fair. Whatcha think?

Anyway, nice to see a mini race, especially one that brings rigs back to the seti race!
 
just look up your account on the SETI site. On your personal page there will be a link for 'View Registration Class'
