Ok long story short is I finally got my Barton 2500+ running in my PC.

It runs SEEMINGLY perfectly fine at 3200+ but I left it on all night and this morning it was locked up on my (windows lock.... unable to move mouse etc)
Is this caused by heat? (dont think so)..... as idle is 41C... low voltage? what?

running 11x200 with 1x512 Cas2-3-3-6 Timings
CPU voltage reading within windows via nvidia system util is 1.66 but ""Aux" is 3.34 volts and WAY in the red. WTF is "Aux"

Run it at 1.75 Volts overnight, if it passes, then it is due to too low voltage, then spend a few hours trying to see how low of a voltage it can remain stable at 2.2ghz.

There could be a few reasons, unstable voltage, not enough voltage, bad memory. Have you Prime95ed the thing yet? SuperPi? Get MBM5 here http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ Watch your 12v, your 5v, and your 3.3 v rails. It also gives good temps. You can get Prime95 here http://www.mersenne.org/, and you should run it for 12-24 hours to see if you dont get any errors. And memster is here http://www.memtest86.com/

Memtest needs to pass all its tests, let it run for a while, let me know about your rails (voltage lines), what brand and how much power your psu is putting out, also let me know if you pass prime or super pi. Good luck with the Oc'ing.

That was OCed mind you... running it at stock now and it seems to be working...temps are stable at 47C

bumped voltage to 1.75 in BIOS (reads 1.84 in MBM?) and hammering on Prime95 (and installing sutff and unraring... hammerin ghte crap out of it basically) CPU is pegged at 100% solid temp 55C

Alright, I would not go any higher until you get some better cooling on that thing. For ex, I like to stay under 45 C under full load, also what board are you using?

Your temps aren't a problem, especially if you're reading the diode temp. How do the voltages look when it's under load? Do they fluctuate a lot or stay pretty steady? I've found that when Prime 95 quits almost immediately without locking up the computer, it usually means the RAM is unstable. What brand/model RAM are you using, and what voltage do you have it set at?

OCZ performance ram
1x512MB PC3200
running at 2-3-3-6 right now (havent locked yet with bumped CPU voltage)
according to the NForce utility the Mem voltage is at 2.6 (default) and the CPU is at 1.81 (fluctuates ~.02)

Hmmm... odd that your CPU is requiring that much voltage to reach 2.2 Ghz. Too bad you didn't have this problem a week ago or my XP2500 that ran 2.2 on default voltage would still be looking for a new home =)

THATS the weird thing

Some boards overvolt... it's not uncommon... mine overvolts by about .025... your's seems to be overvolting about .050

Ran Memtet overnight
Locked up in the morning... seeme dto run for 4+ hrs with no errors though.
Ive runnig non stock CPU/and Memory now and not a single hang-up.
should I try running CPU FSB at like ~180 and see?
Or shoudl I tone down the memory timings from 2-3-3-6 to somethign less agressive and try at 200 again?

well, you memtest froze while running at 200? Then RMA the ram, because pc3200 should be running at 200 without any problems.

Try doing all of that with the side of the case open, and a household fan pointed into the case. That will solve all of your "problems".

doubtful its heat
CPU temp dosnt hit above 55C under full load

I encoded 2 movies yeasterday with no problems at 3200+ (100% CPU load for hrs.)
fired up 1 game and it locked within mins.
I'd THINK it was GX card related at that point, but its locked up randomly in windows before doing next to nothing.
