OK, so I know it's got locked multipliers (tested to be true :() but how is this core otherwise? Complete numbers:

AXDA2500KV4D Z365757190623
AQYFA0345RPMW

Waddya think? I'm getting an Asus A7N8X-Deluxe which I know overclocks superb so I might have a go when it gets here...

I don't know if my OCZ Performance PC3200 R.2 will hold me back but the board does have dividers (yes!) so that should be no problem. I don't have any special cooling but I do have a 1.5LBs Swiftech MCX462-V heatsink with a 42cfm fan and Artic Silver 5 so that should keep it somewhat cool.

Now, I hear that 1.7v is the safest overclock for Athlons. Is this true?

No 1.7v isn't the generally excepted safe limit, in fact it depends on who you ask. Some of these crazy fools are pumping over 2v through 'em. I recommend 1.8v as the ceiling if you don't plan to change CPUs in the next 6 months but experiences, just like opinions, vary ;)

I disagree. DFI LanParty and Abit NF7-S are by far better than Asus. I owned 2 A7N8X-Deluxe (1 v1.04 and 1 v2.0) and both sucked. Perhaps, I was unlucky but I now have 5 NF7-S and I can honestly say all hit 220FSB easily. I am now waiting for my LanParty B.

Just be normal and put it at 2.3 I seriously doubt youll get higher stable with air if u want to be able to hear yourself talk with the 7200 rpm fan

Normal for a 3200+ is 2.2GHz. And I'll go as high as I can as long as the processor keeps at 50c under load. I think using the AS5 will help over the lower end stuff included with the MCX462-V anyways.
