With the combo above,
is there a chance that I can't do 200 X 11 @ 2.2Ghz
with stock voltage ( 1.65v) ?

heatsink = Thermalright SP-97 on AS 5
Panaflo 92mm Low RPM

Ram = 1 GB ( 512 X 2 ) Corsair XMS PC3200 TwinX LLPT @ 2-3-2-6

reason I am asking this is that Prime 95 failed after 2 hours, I heard so many could do 200 X 11 easily,
or is it just bad luck??

i would say atleast 8 out of 10 people on these forums with a 2500+ can go to 3200+ with no voltage bump
they are nice overclockers you should be able to do it
if not then up the voltage to like 1.67 or 1.7
it should do it

I've tried 1.675
better then stock, but still fails prime after several hours..

it still crashes on certain games...after a while

so I'm going to try and bump to 1.7 and see how things go..

Most 2500+ can easily do 2.2 at stock voltage. Mine can do around 2.25 on stock voltage. But some of the newer ones seem to be pretty crappy. I saw a guy on amdmb forums that had one that took 1.9v to do 2.2

edmondoab you've got the best mother for an Athlon XP that is avaliable, i think you've got a no so good stepping in your Barton but going to 1.7v is not the deying of anyone, try it, it should do it well, very good luck

If that were me, i would probably back down the OC a tad if the 1.7v doesn't work. Stability is very important to me :D! When i do the fine tuning of the FSB i like to use 2Mhz incraments.

Edmundo, any Athlon will run for years at 1.75v. I'm one of those people who tell the guy who is running his at 1.9v to back it down a bit, but you're going to have replaced that Barton years before it will fail from running it .1v over stock, I can assure you. Mine has been running at 1.75v for roughly a year now, running 24/7, and still clocks as high as it did when I bought it. I would actually recommend that you bump it to 1.75v, and see how high it will go, and how high it is Prime95 stable. Then, you can experiment with lowering the vcore a little bit at a time, if you want to do that.

yeah it could be the new batch of bartons being sucky..

I was expecting it to run at 1.65 V without a problem @ 2.2Ghz
after trying 1.675 and things still don't look much better..

1.7 V, on my way to test and see if its more stable..

what else could be wrong.

I have to run mine (A7N8X Deluxe, 2500+ at 2.2 and 1gb HyperX PC3500 at 2,3,3,6) at 1.75 to get it stable.

Sure,... go for 1.75, mine would still fail Prime95 at 1.725, but is rock solid at 1.75. Could be your mem too,... maybe try 2,3,3,6 or 2,3,3,7 ?

Was hoping the ram would be rock solid,
ok, I'd try doing a 1.750

I would say that number is lower if we're talking about passing Prime95. Now I realize that some people don't care about Prime95, but the original poster does.
