Imagine creating a bullshit conspiracy theory so bad, that you can't even find anyone to help you validate it.

The prosecutor handpicked by Attorney General William P. Barr to scrutinize how U.S. agencies investigated President Trump’s 2016 campaign said he could not offer evidence to the Justice Department’s inspector general to support the suspicions of some conservatives that the case was a setup by American intelligence, people familiar with the matter said.

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s office contacted U.S. Attorney John Durham, the prosecutor Barr personally tapped to lead a separate review of the 2016 probe into possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia, the people said. The inspector general also contacted several U.S. intelligence agencies.

Among Horowitz’s questions: whether a Maltese professor who interacted with a Trump campaign adviser was actually a U.S. intelligence asset deployed to ensnare the campaign, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the inspector general’s findings have not been made public.

But the intelligence agencies said the professor was not among their assets, the people said. And Durham informed Horowitz’s office that his investigation had not produced any evidence that might contradict the inspector general’s findings on that point.

Well.... go stand in line with all those others fired and about to be fired by Donald Trump.
Lets see... how will this go down?
First off, Trump will tweet an insult, calling the guy A LOSER, then claiming the guy was a NEVER TRUMPER.
Then, Donald will fire him.
And the next day claiming I NEVER KNEW THE GUY.

How much are Trump and Barr's fake investigations costing the American public?

Robert S Mueller pulled in a profit of something like $17, $10 million after his work brought down a basket of witches that were only doing Trump's work.

It’s weird how convinced conservatives were that something improper had happened when it was entirely obvious all along that this would be the result.

I guess that’s what happens when you get caught in the conservative media bubble.

That would make a great article. Add to the list 500K for the fake voter fraud witch hunt.

Also Devin Nunes spent 60K shuttling staff to the Ukraine to hunt down debunked conspiracy theory.

Maybe I'll start that thread and invite input

A few more investigations on Trump, GOP, NRA, etc and they'll be able to pay for universal healthcare with the wall thrown in as a bonus :D

The seed was planted by Barr, Trumpies roared with approval watching him do it, the Trumpies stood by the planting waiting for it to sprout and bear the delicious fruit of redemption, they wait and they wait and they wait all the while speaking as if the non-sprouting plant had already bore a bountiful basket of AHA's!!!! but the seed never sprouted as it was found to be made of elephant shit.

Yet the imaginary basket of bottomless bountiful fruit is somehow being looked at as the real thing and being passed around as if it were real, so real that the recipients gorge themselves on this imaginary fruit until they almost pass out from being over-stuffed with it.

So satisfying it is to dine on hot steaming pachyderm shit.

If these cheap spy novel nutter conspiracy theories are what passes for serious discussion with righties, I can't believe we haven't all been nuked yet.

Hannity's been ranting for months about the IG report coming out, wonder how he'll spin it to his viewers.

I'm sure Slow and others would be happy that all the money they were mailing off to Wayne, to pay for his wife's fur coats and his bastard kids' weddings in Vale would be appropriated by the Feds to pay for poor peoples' health care.

Finally, doing something good for humans!

This is Trump's new impeachment defense.

See, Trump keeps trying to use the executive branch to make dirt on all his political rivals, but look what happens. Election commission, buttery mails at the State Department, and now this. They all just keep coming out the same way!

He had to use a foreign government because his own people just won't cooperate. If all his own people weren't being so mean to him he wouldn't have to use a foreign government. It's all the fault of the derp state!

So that's the new metric to measure investigations by? That "profit" was unrelated to the purpose of Mueller's investigation.

no, but It has been put forward many times by conservative outlets (and POTUS) that the Mueller investigation was a waste of money. A quick Google proves this out

How do you figure? Meuller's investigation mandate was pretty wide open, and he caught a lot of witches that did crimes specifically for Trump. How is that unrelated?

and that's not what I'm arguing...I'm not even arguing anything--just pointing out a thing that is. I'm guessing you still bitch about the investigation costing Taxpayers all this money, when that is a simple observable lie. Do you still bitch about that? Do you correct your dumb friends and dumb family when they perpetuate that same lie? Or do you all just chortle in the Beast Ice-scented self-satisfaction of willful ignorance?

sorry, that was a little too fun.

How about this, something that actually wasn't part of any investigation, that became a thing: Ken Starr investigating WhiteWater...for what, 3 years? Turned up nothing. Not a fucking thing. So he heard about a blow job, then started looking into blowjobs. You probably liked that one. Are you going to complain that the blowjob wasn't part of his investigation and should have never been a thing? I assume you will, because you have professed distaste for this sort of thing.
