My last notebook was an OCZ barebones notebook 5 years ago.

It's time for a new one but it seems the barebones notebook market has shrunk a good bit.

If someone could point me in the right direction for a few of these questions I'd appreciate it.

1. What brands are popular in DIY barebone laptops these days?

2. Newegg's and Tiger Direct's selection is not good. What vendors carry a good selection of these?

3. The OCZ came with a video card and a wireless NIC. Are these components swappable yet?

4. What are the interface standards for video cards and wireless NICs?

Thanks.

3 - The NIC is standard
4 - NICs uses mini-PCIe ports, 5 years ago they were probably using the mini-PCI ports and were roughly standard then as well (IIRC there were 2 competing standards for a while)
