Can someone please let me know some good websites where I can find and buy barebone laptops/notebooks.

Directron carries a few barebones notebooks. I bought an Asmobile (Asus) from there and the DIY articles really helped in the building process. My client was happy with the notebook and I was happy with the experience.

It looks like most of there selection is discontinued or sold out. I purchased an Asus Z96J for my client. It is still listed in the sold out items. They still have five notebooks currently available. I posted the link below.

those are very expensive. Best buy has a pentium dual core laptop with vista home premium and 1gb memory for $429.99 in their ad this week, I would buy that before one of these.


Of course, having said that, I realized last night that I have a bunch of bonus bucks available from my old job so I ordered an inspiron 1521 and a nice 6.1 surround sound system. I could have gotten a 1721 some of those cool noise-canceling headphones but the wife might not have understood why I left her out...
