im not a smart man

I think SagaLore's "wat" was from the idea of a cut and tug. We have rub and tugs all over the US, but a haircut and an orgasm are not something that has caught on here.

I just cut my own hair and have a friend or family trim my neck hair, redneck style.

I like chatting to my hairdresser, then again I'm not a maladjusted social incompetent.

What's this "WE" thing OP? Maybe it is just "YOU" and not "US".

I don't have social anxiety and enjoy talking about practically anything to my barber. :hmm:

It's a match made of heathens.

Fixed.

As to babbling barbers... good ones sense and respect the clients' preference, so once found stick with them.

That is why the place I go to has free beer. A couple of those and I am good to go. Although that did lead to a girl 10 years younger than me calling me princess, shit.

I got weirded out by the happy ending girls. It took 3 weeks before i realized I would of had a happy ending for an additional 20 dollars. i am not a smart man.

Where on earth do you get your hair cut that you can have a happy ending? Nevermind...don't want to know....I'll stick to my happy endings at home and take a plain haircut.

Between my hair cut and my straight razor shave I'm at my barber for around 1 1/2 hours, it would be really shitty and boring to not talk back and forth.

An hour and a half?! I assume he feeds you during?

My barber doesn't bother me. He sucks at cutting hair but it's the least busiest place in town. He usually stays quiet until someone speaks to him. I'm more bothered by the long wait with others around and then being sat up in front of them when it's my turn. That's usually why I only get a haircut every 4 months or so.

I like talking with my hair stylist. It's just a matter of finding one that you connect with who also gives a good cut. Talking to other people is what gives my day meaning.

Why? They only have the most inane things to say. The girl who used to cut my hair in 2013 had a breathalyzer car ignition and was constantly getting into trouble and doing dumb shit. And talking about reality TV. She was smoking-hot, but I don't see what that has to do with talking? I prefer my smoking hot chicks to be seen and not heard.

I'm not great at "small talk" so I work on that with my hair lady. But yeah, some days I just want her to STFU.

One of the reasons I hate getting my hair cut.

I just got my hair cut last week and the lady started talking to me. After a couple of minutes, she must have realized I was a poor conversationalist so she stopped asking me stuff. Problem is, it left me in this awkward position of having to keep the conversation going or something so I had to sit there and try to think of stupid shit to talk about. Like I really gave a fuck about how long she had been cutting hair and whatever else I asked her.

I tip like $5 any time I get my hair cut, so maybe I should just start bringing that up at the start. Like, hey man, I'll tip you $5, just STFU and don't talk to me.

My haircut takes about 10 minutes. The barber likes to talk. Every sentence starts with "I'll be honest with you." I could tell him to STFU, but I don't want my average haircut to go from average to crappy. Also the prospect of pissing off someone standing behind me, holding a very sharp object just inches from my throat, is incentive enough to keep me pleasant. Actually just sitting there in absolute silence would be more uncomfortable.

I don't mind the chatter, but I keep my responses short and usually they quiet down. The weirdest one I had was a few years ago, I went and got my hair cut while out of town and it was this 60+ year old lady. When she was done, she started giving me a neck and back massage for about 5 minutes. I had never had that happen before ever when getting a hair cut and it kind of weirded me out.
