First she unloads on that dingbat Sarah Palin, now she's taking a dig at John Boehner. I knew there was a reason I liked that old broad ;)

There's video in the link:

Former President George H.W. Bush lost composure and cried when he recited an old love letter to wife Barbara during an interview with granddaughter Jenna Bush Hager on Monday, reports MSNBC.

“As children, my sister and I were delighted to find boxes of love letters in both sets of my grandparents’ houses,” Bush Hager said, adding that her grandparents George H.W. and Barbara have been writing each other love letters for years.

During the interview, George H.W. choked up as he read a particular letter from 1994, which was after almost 50 years of marriage.

“Will you marry me? Whoops. I forgot you did that 49 years ago today,” George H.W. said. “I was very happy on that day in 1945, but I’m even happier today. You give me joy that few men know. I’ve climbed perhaps the highest mountain in the world, but even that cannot hold a candle to being Barbara’s husband,” Bush said, his voice cracking. “Mom used to tell me, ‘Now George, don’t walk ahead.’”

“You never listened to your mother,” Barbara said.

“Little did I know I was only trying to keep up with Barbara Pierce from Onondaga Street in Rye, New York. I love you,” George H.W. said.

“Why are we such criers?” Hager Bush asked.

“You know what, you could be Speaker of the House,” Barbara said, looking at George H.W., seeming to reference House Speaker John Boehner

Don't mess with a broad that keeps a fetus in a jar in her house as an object lesson.

There was something charming when Barbara Bush moved into the white house and never pretended to be a clothes horse. Since then, Barbara Bush has otherwise proved to be a snob and a bigot. I have no respect for GHB's wife Barbara, no respect for GWB, but I still have some respect for GHB.

But GWB's daughter Barbara just came out in favor of gay Marriage. Proving stupidity and lack of compassion for others is not always hereditary.

What has she done to make you think she's a snob and a bigot?

I always thought she was a hardass that told it like it is. I'd hardly call her a snob either -- she's probably got more balls than her husband :)

Well thank you for giving me a soapbox to begin. When she shot off her mouth after Katrina about how all those blacks in the Superdome reacted, when her sonny boy GWB said fuck you to them, it was kinda a last straw for me. She proved she was a bigot and a snob in spades. The Bush famdamily assumed automatically that all those black in the superdome were butchering themselves when in fact they behaved in quite an exemplary manner. As for all those stranded white and black residents of Louisiana and Mississippi that had their lives threatened due to the lack of GWB competence, its a sad and sorry cometary to say our networks news organizations did a far better job in rescue than our Federal government.

Where was a Barbara Bush then when she should have been dope slapping her son?
At least GHWB suffered in silence, ole Barb proved herself a bigot and a snob, and now in 2011, she still does.

Barbara Bush on Hurricane Katrina Refugees
Thursday September 8, 2005
It is, without doubt, the quote of the hour — a remark attributed to ex-first lady and mother-of-the-president Barbara Bush during a visit to the Hurricane Katrina refugee shelter in the Houston Astrodome:

"What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them."

Some folks are loathe to believe she actually said this. As one reader wrote, "I would like to see the transcript, hear the video, see something other than this to confirm what Barbara Bush reportedly said. I find this difficult to believe, as she is a compassionate and caring person and was a wonderful first lady (regardless of opinions about her husband or son)."

The fact is, she did say it, during a question-and-answer session with a reporter for "Marketplace," a program aired on National Public Radio. Audio recordings of both the finished segment and the original, unedited interview are available online.

In fairness, the comment heard on the radio was extracted from a lengthier exchange in which Mrs. Bush also expressed compassion for the Katrina refugees she encountered. But that hasn't stopped critics of the Bush administration from comparing it to Marie Antoinette's alleged response to the complaints of the poor and dispossessed on the eve of the French Revolution: "If they have no bread, let them eat cake."

White House press secretary Scott McClellan defended Mrs. Bush's comments thus: "I think that the observation is based on someone or some people that were talking to her that were in need of a lot of assistance, people that have gone through a lot of trauma and been through a very difficult and trying time. And all of a sudden, they are now getting great help in the state of Texas from some of the shelters."[/QUOTE]

When put IN CONTEXT there is nothing snobbish or racist about her words.

By GWB do you mean Governor Blanco?
