Yes, some things are sacred. I'm happily married with two kids. What about my rights not to have "marriage" watered down by gays wishing to force their twisted thinking upon society under some B.S. discrimination argument and in the process uprooting centuries of tradition as well as natural law? No thanks.

And I already mentioned earlier that I am totally okay with civil unions which provide nearly all legal rights of marriage without the "trophy" to dangle in front of society.

get your wife to sign a settlement now, gay marriage will probably be legal in NJ soon. I'm sure your divorce will follow immediately.

If your concept of why your marriage is important is so pathetic that the idea of two other people you don't even know getting married diminishes it, your marriage is shit anyway.

Just out of curiosity - What if one of your kids turns out to be gay?

You should be more concerned with the divorce rate which makes "marriage" more water down than a couple of gays being married.

The high divorce rate does bother me -- a lot in fact. But that doesn't mean we should make it worse by allowing a free for all either which would include gays being allowed more than civil unions.

Heh. Surprised it took this long for one of you to ask that.

My answer is they will be loved as much as any parent can give a child. That said, they will be encouraged -- rather sternly in fact -- to lead a life of chastity. If not, they'd better keep it in the fvcking closet where I can't see it.

All I heard was, 'higher taxes, higher taxes'.

You make more than $5,000,000 a year?

A repeal of the George W. Bush tax cuts is inherently a tax increase-- so everyone who got a break under GWB will de facto have a tax increase under Obama.

Not to mention his lengthy list of expensive government programs. For instance, he mentioned a $150 billion dollar "investment" in alternative energy. What is that-- a corporate handout to auto manufacturers? And where is the money for this, and universal health care going to come from?

Go tell our wife you are so insecure that you need a 8 letter word to feel your love for her is meaningful and insured by the government.

Thanks in advance

One who discriminates against gays/lesbians is no better than a racist.

I'm pretty sure blacks were called violations of nature for their different skin color. That's the point. DIFFERENT. Anything that's DIFFERENT, people immediately begin to rain down upon.

I am not gay, but damn, using any bullshit like "violations of nature" used to justify limiting LOVE pisses me off. Love is what allowed you to marry your wife and live in harmony equally among other married couples. Why not allow gays/lesbians to share the same joy of marriage?

America is a country of EQUALITY and FREEDOM. It's not as if there's nothing else to worry about, either. We're nearly $9 trillion dollars in debt! If not taken care of, this will be the fall of America, not homosexuality! IOUSA was not about the negative impact of homosexuality on modern culture. It was about DEBT, which is actually a PROBLEM. I am certain this anti-homosexuality movement will die out in 15-20 years, and people will look down upon it just as we do today with racism.

Sorry if I sound stupid, my angst is getting the better of me.

I'm not a fan of either Obama or McCain, however, it looks like the Republicans need to seriously consider abandoning McCain to some vast area of wilderness and start over with someone else.

That would only be a good idea if they wanted to win in November.

They seem dead set on losing with their wholesale adoption of Bush's policies as their "new" platform.

who would be a better republican to run against Obama?

name the one who'd be within single digits of the democratic nominee in the worst climate for republicans since Nixon.

Better than the Pelosi platform Obama has adopted. Who voted for the bush energy bill again giving billions away to big oil?

I guess I just don't get it...

What does "watered down" mean in this context? Is it like outlawing NASCAR because it waters down "real" race driving? :)
