"I will not run for president or vice president in 2008."

from today's Meet the Press

just thought I'd share, for all those speculators ;) Obama confirmed that he will serve his full 6-year term in the Senate and will definitely not be running for president or vice prseident in 2008... not that Condi Rice's exact same statements have prevented the blockheads from constantly talking about her running in 2008...

Should be a shoe-in then considering the current company we keep.

on some matters, but I can't think of a single politician who has ever said "I will not run," leaving absolutely no room for error or misinterpretation, and then went on to run for that office.

I like Barak Obama, and inexperience aside, I think he has the right kind of attitude and worldview for the job. His keynote speech on the foolishness of the red state/blue state "battle" at the 2004 Democratic National Convention alone was enough to convince me that this would be a great guy to have as President (especially when you compare his to the keynote speech at the RNC, the ranting lunatic speech from Zell Miller).

But am I the only person who thinks that he has no chance because he's not a white guy? I realize no one in their right mind would use that as a tactic against him, but I do tend to wonder if he wouldn't bring out the closet bigots.

I'd prefer someone who has less experience to be honest. That means they've probably been corrupted less.

The way Kerry was swift-boated, I'm not so sure.
