What about Epstein's old cell? Still have a vacancy? He would fit in well there.

Maybe Trump can get a whole wing named after him. He can donate one of his many signs that have been removed from buildings.

Epstein was in Fed custody.

Bannon sentenced to 4 months on each count running concurrently plus $6500 fine.

Sadly, he will not have to serve the four month sentence until the appeal of his conviction plays out. So, not until long time from now.

Concurrently is pure bullshit.. there should be no such thing.. What's the point of having multiple convictions if you get to serve them all at the same times.. 4 Months total is already a slap on the wrists..

Lol $6500 fine??? Barely covers court costs for this sentencing hearing.

$6500? Really?
I got that available on my American Express.
For that monetary tidbit I think I'll start my own coup d'état.
I never knew overthrowing the United States government was so affordable.
Just imagine what some maniac with real money could do....

Surprised he got anything at all for contempt of Congress. I don't know how often that has ever happened, if at all. It's a good precedent.

Bannon still faces charges in NY state over that "build the wall" crowdfunding fraud. Potentially higher sentence there.

Mr. Bannon was charged by the Manhattan district attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, with two felony counts of money laundering, two felony counts of conspiracy and one felony count of a scheme to defraud, and could face a maximum sentence of five to 15 years on the most serious charge.

I feel like they had to hear or congress might as well delete its subpoena power. Bannon explicitly told congress to go fuck itself. I feel like to defy a congressional subpoena you should at least feign intent to comply in some way.

Which is why I said it's a good precedent. The prosecution had asked for...6 months. The difference there is not particularly relevant.

If he's going to serve a long sentence, the NY case is a better bet.

Slight wristslap. I mean the guy absolutely refused to cooperate with the court system by disclosing his financials. The judge, at a minimum, should have punished that disrespect for the court system by levying the maximum fine.

Personally I think his behavior from beginning to end, without even the scintilla of remorse or regret. Giving him anything less than the maximum prison section (one year) will only encourage others to commit the same offenses.

I am always in a quandary regarding these issues of contempt. There is plenty I find contemptible about both the courts and the Congress. I don't believe in respect that is commanded and not earned naturally. But Bannon is contemptible and for his disrespect, I think he should lose his citizenship and right to reside in the US.

So the problem is that what is contempt and what is not for me is personal and one can't apply personal standards when dealing with society's laws. And that sucks.
