Aggregate buying, yes. Some great deals were had, but there were issues. I remember once there was this great deal on Palm m505's (hot back in the day). As more people joined in, the prices kept lowering which attracted more buyers... This went on until the proce was dirt cheap, and thousands of people were on board. A great deal, perhaps, but a few of those "glitches" put these startups out.
