Banned cdkey from Epic - Ut2004 for no reason! ridiculous!!

I was banned yesterday for no reason from the master server in UT2004. That means I can no longer play online. I sent this email to epic, and the reply also included. Check it out and tell me what you think. Also here are some demos of me playing on that same server. They are some months old but still its the same people playing there. Apparently I was just too good for those newbies, and also I used the nick name Cheater, since apparently that's what I am for them.

I've been playing Ut2k4 ever since it came out. I've
played almost daily for some months.. then quit some
weeks and play daily again. Yesterday I updated to the
new patch and today I tried to play and recieved a
message saying: Epic Games has blocked this CD Key for
online play. Banned.. etc et.

Is this a general error or did someone banned my key?
I don't think anyone has stolen my CD key since I play
daily and I have never recieved a duplicate Cd key
error.

I often play in "newbie" servers and very very often I
get called a cheater, hacker and what not. Many times
I've been threatened they will report me to epic,
BLA...BLA...BLA... and some other times they've told
me they already reported me.

I find this extremly dissapointing from a game company
to ban someone and not even try to research if the
person really cheated or not. I'm assuming that's what
happened since I can't think of any other reason. Im
about to explode here in anger. I paid for my game and
I play every day and I want to play right NOW!.

I couldn't wait to get UT2007 but now... with this
things happening... why would I?

I will try to find a demo where I think I recorded
some people reporting me for apparetly being "too good
to be true"

7/8/05 playing from ip 201.138.168.58 on "Bee's Server
(US)-www.bees.tk".

You called yourself "Cheating_Aimbot" and "Cheater", but weren't

hah... lol... if you played UT often there's not many servers. Ut community is vanishing and the newb servers are the only ones left for FFA DM

Makes sense, but if you still want to play UT maybe you need to find a clan to go up against other hardcore players instead.

I was 99.9% playing Onslaught, but haven't played in a couple of months. It's a great game, too bad if everyone is abandoning it for BF2 and other new FPS.

UT community has definately gotten smaller over the last few months, but I am still able to find enough people to play with every day.

RG IG CTF community is still pretty large, and the LG IG CTF community is small but stable and lots of fun.

I have to agree though that it's a shame the only servers constantly full anymore are the demo servers, where all you find is whining, cheating, and accusations...

Our server is ranked #11 in the world, so please stop by and check us out sometime. We mainly play Low Gravity w/ Air Control + PIG or Zark CTF, but I also have DM in the vote menu. The sever is hosted in the Dallas, TX datacenter on theplanet.com network. As a reference people from Canada ping in the high 80's most of the time. People in Texas are usually 30-50ms.

Although I don't actually do this, I've been tempted to screw with noobs many times. Banning somebody for naming himself "Cheating_Aimbot" is just ridiculous.

The issue has been resolved. I was Unbanned and I was told not to use those nick names because probably I will get banned again and again.

There has got to be some sort of process to appeal the ban if it was in fact an error.

Worst came to worst, i think you should start spammer other message boards and tell the world about your problem. You might need a huge following in order to effect any change with Epic.

if your encouraging the newbs to think your cheating your making their game experience worst, if you want to kills newbs thats fine but going around calling yourself aimbot or cheating_aimbot is just asking them to ban you

As I said... they solved the ban problem. I can play now! . I emailed them the demos and I was unbanned.

I have never told anyone that I was cheating. I may have used the nickname but whenever they question me I always tell them I am not cheating and invite them to spec me. But again there were some people spectating a few days ago and they were telling me my aim "locked on" other players... lol... and I'm not even half as good as some players around here and the UT community.

I'm glad you got the issue resolved. Sucks to be wrongly admin'ed in online games.

Personally I dislike nicks that joke at cheating, since there are too many true cheats in the gaming for it to be funny anymore, but for support people related to any large gaming developer to be so naive as to equate "cheat" nicks to cheaters is pretty weak I guess.
