I use to work for BofA and the only thing I like about them are their plethora of ATMs everywhere. If you're not a big client, then they won't care about you. I remember when a customer started getting mad at one of our managers and threaten to cancel his account and my manager calmly asked, "Did you want cash or a cashier's check, if you want a cashier's check, we're gonna have to charge you $6?" That was hilarious.

I now bank with WF

Hmm, never happens to me ( knock on the wood). I love bofa and have been with them for almost six years. I use banking online all the time and rarely go in teller it's necessary. One time I went to teller more than three times a month cuz I needed cashier's check and something else. They wavied the fees, even, no charges for cashier's check.

I think it depends who's teller or manager that screwed up not the bank itself.

I used to use Wells Fargo but recently switched to Washington Mutual and I am very pleased with their service and minimal fees.

I have nothing but good relations with BofA for over 4 years.
I only take your incident to be exactly that. An incident.

Hope you reconsider.

I've been with BofA since 1984.

I have free checking, free teller visits, discounted check reprinting..all my checks clear in record time. No problems whatsoever.

It has been a bad month for me :( Got laidoff, ripped off a deal by a close family member costing me $10+K in the near future, now this incident, er..... hopefully things will turn better. Wells Fargo seems to be nice. I'll double check with them on their checking.

I deposited a check for $1,958.00 and two days later I looked at my statement online and saw a deposit for $158.00 :| and at first I couldnt find my receipt, they acted like they thought they could weasel out of it on a technicality.

That was a long time ago though, I havent had any problems with them since then, now I have all of my accounts with them, mortgage, home equity, credit card, and free interest checking.

When I did a refinance and switched from WAMU to BofA they sent a courier to my office with the paperwork so I wouldnt have to take time from work to go to the bank.

I  Washington Mutual.
Me too.
But not their Home Loan centers. Our mortage officer was a complete moron. She was the one who did all the FHA loans and I kept having to look up FHA regulations myself on line and email them to her when she didn't have a clue how things worked.

I had BofA when i was living in So. Cal. I friggin hated them with a passion. They screwed up everything they possibly could. Don't they even charge you to see a teller?

Yes they charge you a $3 service fee/visit if you go more than 3 times per month. In addition, their checking acount requires min balance of $1,000 which is insanely high.

I like my Wamu. The local one here has a lot of cute girls working there. Yummy.

I love BoFA. Been with them since 1993, when I was 11 years old! :Q:D

One time someone broke into my apartment and stole some checks and cashed out. They instantly credited me back. About $350 here.

Now just recently after or dering from hpshopping.com (die!) and they lost the laptop I ordered, and wouldn't give me a refund they credited me back instantly. About $900 here.

Did this all in 10 minutes over the phone. Money back first, then they investigate is A+ to me.

Not to mention the millions of ATMs all over.

I mean how can I get copies of the checks if I have already deposited them? doh! I'll give them a ear full tomorrow when they open. :|

me too i have had top notch service from BofA, They were very pleasent with me when i was a very poor college student and even nicer when i actually had money for cds and such, i have two checking and savings accounts with them multiple cds and a credit card, my online bill pay is awsome i would never want to give it up.

i frankly dont care whether you reconsider or not but to be rash about moving 25k in cash is a stupid move. I would just talk to the branch manager and tell them you are dissatisfied with the service you recieved.
