anyone else have trouble with bank of america visa and newegg?

I've spent nearly the whole day trying to buy a scanner, and I'm about to go mad from the frustration!

newegg sends the charge through, it fails, bank of america freezes my account, I call them, get referred instantly (well.. not quite instantly) to security where they keep asking me the same questions, if I have to tell them yes I charged that pair of shoes two weeks ago again I may scream.. they keep assuring me it's fixed.. new egg puts the charge through again, it fails, bank of america freezes my account, I call 'em, lather, rinse, repeat.

this happened before christmas too.. I gave up and used another card that time but this time I'm mad. :| I'm more than 10k below my credit limit and it's only 132 for the scanner.. it's purely a complete incompatibility between newegg and the bank.. I just wondered if it's just my account that's stupid!

I'm afraid to try my debit card.. I don't like to use it online anyway, but in this case they'd probably lock that up too and all the bills I paid yesterday'd be bouncing tomorrow.. oy. they've put the charge through again, failed, and locked my account again, since I first posted. 🙁

I have another visa, and I'm sure it would work.. that's what I did the last time this happened but I don't want to! I don't like to use that one at all and already had to several times today because of this ordeal.. and it's the principal of the thing. this one ought to work. it used to work. it doesn't make sense that it doesn't anymore. It's *only* a problem with newegg! frustrating.

I'm tired of fighting them today. I emailed newegg, we'll see if that helps.. maybe someone reading the problem will have more insight than the people I've been talking to all day.. and I'll try one more time in the morning, call bank of america, get them to clear the account.. call newegg, talk to them again.. and wait. If that doesn't work I'll email them (newegg) one more time (and tell 'em that not being able to buy stuff has a negative impact on my desire to do business with them), call the visa people one more time and get my account unfrozen (sigh) one last time, and buy the danged scanner somewhere else.

if it was a new account.. if I was 30 years younger.. if I was at my credit limit.. if I had a carryover balance on the thing even.. if I hadn't used this same card for years at newegg with no trouble.. I might could find some sense in this ordeal! but.. since none of those apply, it's just makin' me crazy. 😛

 
I have no problems using my BofA Visa CC or BofA Visa check card with newegg.

no problems here either with BofA CC...they always went through right away and had some sort of weird confirmation thing even...

i haven't bought from them in like 5 months though so maybe things have changed 😱

I get the 'verified by visa' thing.. and I always forget my password, so everytime I use that, I have to reset it.

I ordered from newegg last week, used my BofA cc, got the Verified by Visa screen and had no problems.

thanks. I was really hoping that someone else was having similar problems, or had, and fixed it and could give me a hint but.. short of that, and since I'm taking the night off from arguing with them, sympathy is good. 🙂
