Very interesting offer for Bank of America cardholders. If you already have a BofA credit or check card and are enrolled in Online Banking, you can sign up here. Once registered, any purchases at participating online retailers with the registered card automatically qualify for up to 20% cash back.

The list of participating retailers is very lengthy and includes some perennial Hot Deals names like newegg, Dell Small Business, Tiger Direct and Buy.com.

You're most likely to get only 1% to 2% back at these retailers unless there's a special promotion in effect, but still, since the cash back would be on top of any other offers, it's found money.

Edit You must begin the purchase by signing into the Add it Up website so no Live Search cash back.

Edit 2 Link fixed to remove secure cookie.

Locked on account of unlicensed necromancy.

Thanks for posting this. I, too have seen the TV ads and done nothing. Just registered-I note that Staples is 8% cash back for a limited time (usually 4%), which is a good find in my book.

This is "borrowed" from Discover's concept,... so if you have a Discover card, you can get cashback up to 20% via links on their (Discover's) website as well,.. though more people will have a Bank of America debit card or credit card,...

It is also available as a printable coupon at some B&M retailers. Only four listed so far, but two of them are Tiger Direct and CompUSA.

Newegg is one of the retailers. They seem to get a disproportionate amount of my income lately

Yeah, just discovered that. There are some odd rules regarding WA and ID with BofA that I have never figured out. For example our online banking interface is WAY less capable compared to the rest of the country. We can check balances and transfer between our own accounts and thats it, no transferring to any other accounts at all.

I have called them a few times and they tell me we will get the full features soon but that was well over a year ago.

It has to do with the banking systems used. The system in those states is still using whatever banks system it used to be before BofA bought them out. The system for those states is not capable of handling alot of extra things that the rest of the country is. Who knows when/if they will change those states over.

The special offers appear on the website. They don't send you spam. I haven't received any spam from this program in the month that I've been signed up.

the fact that boa decided that competing with fatwallet's cashback is the way out of the crapper they're in makes me pessimistic about their future.

As a customer of several years, almost every experience I've ever had with BoA has made me pessimistic about their future and yet they persist....

Seriously, the only reason I and for that matter any of my friends do business with BoA is to exploit their many promotions. Beyond those, they're customer service is a disaster and their fee system is the subject of a major class action lawsuit which pretty much says it all.

But I don't want to thread cap, as I said earlier, I signed up my 5 BoA debit cards.

Exactly. BofA may not be the greatest bank for customer service (though I doubt they are much worse than any of the other larger national banks), but a lot of people hold their plastic and they might as well take advantage of the program.

Sort of O/T, but wasn't there a thread somewhere about which credit cards currently have the best terms? I can't seem to find it...
