Bank Account Suggestions

Just wondering if people have any suggestions for a savings/checking account. I'm currently with Chase, but only because Washington Mutual went bankrupt. I don't really care for Chase, but I made the time to find something new. Would be nice to find something with a decent interest rate.

Credit unions are mostly pretty good.

There is no reason for banks to offer good interest rates until the Fed stops loaning at 0%.

Savings: Almost all banks pay less than 1%. Put that money into an INGDirect.com or similar FDIC-insured online savings account.

Checking: you can keep it at Chase if the savings/checking interest is your only complaint, banks rarely pay anything good for checking. Note that the ING Direct fine print on their checking is that it pays next to nothing unless you keep a huge amount of cash in it.

You're not going to find a tradition savings account above (or near, really) 1% right now.

I use USAA for savings/checking (savings might be 0.51%?). The rest of my money is in a Ford Interest Advantage account (1.70%)...but that's not federally insured, of course.
