Question bang for buck nvme 1tb or 2tb

just curious what would be the go to drive for nvme drives nowdays. last few years id buy a ex920 for 100-110$ shipped, now i see they are 126$ the ex950 is 134$ and the sn750 black 1tb is 145$

is there any other drives i should keep a eye out for? or just buy the sn750? HOWEVER i wont purchase ADATA so dont suggest any of those.

1TB SN550 for $99 is the best budget option current. 2TB is trickier, SX8100 or Rocket Q most likely, but I don't consider either of those top-tier. Check my resources.

Intel 660p is the deal that replaced the ex920.

The HP ex920 was a great deal at its time. The intel slaughtered it giving you a price of sub 190 dollars for 2TB.

However your not going to get cheap SSD's period as Dram prices have gone up.
And i expect it go up even more especially with china and the corona virus, as well as Samsung having a blackout.

You may see better deals on Enterprise drives @ 4TB on ebay tho.
I did make a post on the PM985 which is a 3.84TB NVMe, U.2 factor that i got for $425 new, which i felt that was a great deal.

yes i for sure saw that.. its tempting but the laptop it is going in was only 300$ so a 425$ drive for it would be interesting and id have to take it apart to make it fit (which is fine) was hoping for a little more endurance/performance then the 660p but it might just be in my mind that i need it since im using the m.2 2230? tiny 512gb drive and i think it does around 400mb/read write just to small. (i can put a SSD sata but i will need to take the case off the drive because the battery is blocking part of its place) the pm985 really sounds good tho 3.84tb and the speed is great.

I dont think any laptop can take a U.2
And you really cant plug a U.2 in a standard Sata.

If its a laptop, you need to stick with m.2

my i actually was thinking about it a hour ago and realized "wow such a awesome drive but if i have a sata adapter its going to suck with speed so why bother with a 3000mb/s drive ) it has sata and nvme i really dont know about u.2 ill have to read about the adapters right now. back to idea of a sn750 1tb and a old 1tb sata 850 evo laying around dissembled)

For a budget pick, the WD SN550 is a solid value at $100.

The next step I would go with would be a drive like the Corsair MP510 for $135, or the WD SN750 or Seasonic 510 for $150 (would lean towards the SN750 when the same price).

ya already looked at the 145$ 1tb sn750 i guess thats the one to get, i dont watn to budget i want bang for buck really have no budget in mind and also looked at the 2tb ex950 for 242$ as well.
