Bandwidth dropped because of Hide IP Platinum

I recently installed Hide IP Platinum and ever since then my bandwidth has dropped alot. Before I installed Hide IP my bandwidth was around 2.4 MBPS whenever I ran a speed test on my connection. Now its only around 380 KBPS. I uninstalled Hide IP thinking that I would get my bandwidth back after I did but it is still around 380 KBPS. Has anyone else had this problem?

There is no good reason to hide your IP, if you are doing something illegal the feds will find you. If you don't want to be banned from internet forums, don't do stupid things.

As long as you browse smart and have a decent firewall you're fine.

I just thought it was something I might need like having a virus scanner or adware / spyware remover to protect my computer.

No not at all. Like I said, surf smart, have a decent firewall, keep your antivirus and antispyware up-to-date, use a Limited User account and you are ready to surf in style. :sun:

Things like hide IP platinum use proxy servers, so all your data passes through an extra server become coming to yours. If the server's slow, then your internet will be aswell.

How do I change it so my data doesn't go through the extra server anymore? I think whatever setting Hide IP changed when I installed it stayed even though I uninstalled it.
