ok so need some tech help.
i just got FIOS last friday. we started with the 20/5 speeds (20 down/ 5 up) but quickly upgraded to the 20/20 since my gf really does need that upload speed to get image files to clients (zip files of 400+ MB)
so i ran some http://www.speedtest.net tests on my desktop. i was capping out at 12.5mbs up and getting about 25 down consistently.
i disabled my kaspersky firewall, same shit.
verizon told me to try in safe mode. so i did.
i hit the rated speeds on the mark. now my download stays at 20 down, not 25. and my upload hits 20 each test.
so i went to my work laptop (XP pro), did not disable anything and got about 13 up and 13 down.
went to my girlfriends dell laptop with vista, got 14.5 up and only like 10 down, with firewall disabled.
this is a lot of bandwidth 'disappearing'
what is the culprit in windows that is either a)not utilizing this bandwidth or b) hiding it somewhere?
