Thought this might make for interesting conversation....

For those that have met bands/singers, what'd you think of them... were they cool or totally assholes?
The only singer I've had the chance to meet was Howie Day and he was awesome... really friendly, down to earth.

What are y'alls experiences or what have you heard?

My brother-in-law is a singer/guitar player in a punk band, Staring Problem, and sometimes he's very nice, other times he's a complete dick.

Violent Feemes are a bunch stupid jerkoffs, they gave a terrible concert at UCSD and kept saying how we were all spoiled by mommy and dad, stupid dumbasses, UCSD is a public school.

my friend's friend's frat house paid Eve 6 to come do a concert in their backyard and hang out with them.... heard they were okayish... i'm sure they were there just for the cash...

nothing current, but a friend bought Danny Elfman a beer after an Oingo Boingo concert about 11 years ago and said he was cool.

I don't care nor do I wanna know if bands/singers are jerks. Judge them on their music, not on personality expectations.

I'm not sure how I'd react if rabid fans were always in my face about autographs and what not, perhaps some artists are jerks because their fans are?

perhaps.... none the less, once you're famous thats something you know you're just gonna have to deal with.... you either deal with it well, or go off the deep end... hehe

someone's been getting thread ideas from nancies! ;)

Howie is usually pretty cool. There have been a lot more "asshole" observations from people lately, so perhaps his fame is starting to get to his head. I have had nothing but pleasant interactions with the guy though. But regardless, his music speaks for itself and that's all I care about.

Mariah Carey HAS to be nice to her fan. Otherwise he might leave....

I don't know if she really counts, but Jennifer Love Hewitt is awesome... Really nice and much prettier in real life than camera... Her songs are so so though...

Who the hell cares what theyre like in real life? Theyre musicians, they dont take care of your children or anything....

I met David Usher and the rest of the band Moist (I don't know how well known they are in the US) in a restaurant/bar in Kitchener and they seemed pretty nice.
