Bandai retires from Seti.....

:Q :Q :Q

That is sad news for SETI as he could sure crank them out when the PCs he managed were running SETI.

That is sad news 🙁, for SETI and Team Starfire, as Bandai is an awesome cruncher. And I mean that in more ways than just his WU output. 🙂

I know Team Starfire certainly valued his personal contribution to the team as much if not more than just his WU count, and I hope that he is still able to hang out on the BBR forums. Or here for that matter. 😉

NOTE to Team Anandtech: Just because Bandai has retired, doesn't mean that Team Starfire isn't a threat. They are about equal in output these days, and with some efforts on their part, they still are quite capable of overtaking us. So let's not use this as an excuse to coast. 😉

sad news indeed. Bandai did a great deal of work for the seti distributed computing project. Since I don't have a BBR account, I'll just post here, figuring a few of the BBR folks check out our forums as well.

Best wishes, Bandai.

🙁

Sorry to hear that....but BBR is a great team with great spirit. You guys will do just fine (as long as you stay back at least 500 feet just like the signs on the back of the firetrucks say! 😉 )

To the TeAm: While BBR has lost (sadly 🙁 ) today, they are still a huge threat in overtaking us. We really need to stay focused and add where we can. We are growing quickly in many projects lately....and doing a great job in all of them. 🙂

more..more...more! :Q

Ya, what he said.

Good Luck Bandai!! Sorry to see you go. 🙁

Robor and Engineer made very nice posts on the BBR Forum that express my feelings exactly. Sad day for SETI. 🙁

I'll always remember my needling Bandai by calling him "Bandaid" ... but that was all in fun. Don't know why he "retired" but besides being mysterious it also sounds serious. Hope his work was not put in jeopardy or anything like that.

Good luck Bandai. 😉

I agree that this is a very sad day for the Seti project. In the short time I have been part of this I have seen Bandai throw some amazing numbers. He will be missed.

Now with that being said, this is a great time for BBR to rise up and make a huge run at us. Let's not let this happen!

Plus, Bandai really motivated the TeAm to produce.

Sorry to see him go.

Dom

We need to use this as motivation as well!!!! Let's turn it up and put BBR far behind us. MORE MORE MORE!!!

Yes, the day Bandai retired was a HUGE loss for the S@H Project as well as Team Starfire & BBr.com. We all (those who could call him friend as well as his fellow teammates) wish him well in whatever life brings him, and hope that he comes to visit in the Forums from time to time.......

Without a doubt, Bandai WILL be missed!!

Definately a big loss for SETI and BBR.🙁

its always awesome to see to Monster Crunchers with massive fleets at their disposal put up numbers in one day that it takes others months or years to crunch.:Q:Q

on the bright side TeAm BBR😛 is going to give several top 10 teams a solid 1-2 punch(or stomp😉) very soon now. and when the dust settles at least we know we'll have good neighbors near the top.😀
