Just ck'd out DLSR and noticed a post by Bandai saying the admin's pulled a large chunk of his fleet.

Bad for DC in general🙁

Good for TA🙂

Actually, it was posted today. His production will be about 40 P3s and/or Celerons from what he's saying.

He has had a further reduction. There is a new posting from him where he is going down to 30-40 Celerons and P3s. I put a post up here

Heh, the problem was I was looking at Bandai's join date for DSLR (05-11-2001) and thinking it was the day of the post... 😱 /me should go to bed 🙂

It's a big loss for the SETI@Home project as a whole. 🙁

It's good for our race. 😀

I just hope this isn't some kind of tactic to make us complacent.

More... more... MORE! Wait, who says that again? 😉

Well to be honest, the numbers mentioned aren't a lot of machines really, if you think about it.

Regarding the SETI project as a whole, I doubt they'll notice the missing WUs when looking at it globally 🙂

As I said in the other thread:

<< I love to win, but not this way, as it is a loss to all of SETI. 🙁

Even though Bandai's flushes were a royal pain during the race 😉, they were amazing. But SETI or any other DC project is NOT worth losing your job over. If the powers that be (however ignorant) say no, then no it is. 🙁

And before TA starts celebrating, I would STRONGLY suggest that we NOT understimate the determination and resources of DSLR. They are NOT quitters, they ARE fierce competitors. 🙂

While they may have lost a huge contributor, there is still plenty of time in this race for them to make up the difference. TA should know that, as we have been working hard to counter Bandai & Stone's flushes ourselves.

So TA must press on less we suffer the fate of the hare.
