This is a foolish endeavor and I can definitely tell you the answer is no. There are plenty of people like me that blanketly hate rock music as a whole, and I've heard it all. Similarly, there are plenty of people that blanketly hate all the music I listen to. You're wasting time.

Jackson Browne - everybody loves Jackson Browne.

I'm gonna be a happy idiot
And struggle for the legal tender
Where the ads take aim
And lay their claim
To the heart and the soul
Of the spender

And believe whatever may lie
In those things that money can buy
For true love could have been a contender

Are you there?
Say a prayer?
For the pretender

I know everyone won't agree, but I have a biased opinion.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I've never heard anyone say Alice in Chains sucks.....

I've convinced at least 3 of my skeptical friends that Alice was better than whatever they were listening to at the time, so I will agree with you.

Paul Simon.

Of course I think you should disqualify anyone who ONLY listens to one genre. Someone who only listens to country, or metal, or folk, or rap, will of course not be able to agree on anything.

Agreed. Quite the closed minded group they are.....and I used to be one of them.

there isn't such a thing someone is going to hate the band and all their songs.

I offer you Tina Turner though or Creedance Clearwater Revival
as not only do both (especially the latter) have a wide range of fans, but a lot of their songs have been covered by newer bands (such as rock bands) that people seem to like. I think creedance even covers a tina turner song
so even though there might be someone who doesn't like the band or its songs they might like the covers

Actually, Tina Turner covered Proud Mary by Fogerty/CCR.

I am pretty sure you're all ignoring older generations who grew up near elvis's time as well as those who immigrated here. They have wildly different tastes.

I propose to you all...magical trevor.

Possibly Scott Joplin (who doesn't love the ice cream truck song?)

lest I forget...merrie melodies.

I did leave out the older generation on purpose. Not out of disrespect, but I felt it would be easier to (although aparently not) to get a younger generation to agree on a band. :)
