Band of Brothers DVD November 5th (and more details inside)

I remember all of us were talking so much about when the Band of Brothers series would come to DVD. Well here it is. November 5th for $120. I know it's expensive, but hey it's six discs and it comes in a sweet mettalic case. My only problem is that it comes out the same day as the Sports Night DVD, and those two together are going to put a dent into my bank account.

The specs and features on the set will be:


16:9 widescreen video.

Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS audio.

"We Stand Alone Together: The Men of Easy Company." A 1 hour 20 minute documentary featuring interviews with the real members of Easy Company.

30-Minute "Making of Band of Brothers" featurette.

Ron Livingston's "Video Diaries".

Video of HBO's premiere screening on the beaches of Normandy.

Interactive branching "Field Guide" feature that allows users to access information on subjects such as Soldiers, Timeline, Map, Chain of Command, Glossary and Briefings while watching the episodes.

Yipes, I was hoping to buy this one as I saw it on HDTV and I still probably will but man thats gonna hurt.

I'm sure there will be plenty of Hot Deals that will bring this under $100 atleast. I'm assuming they're putting 2 episodes on each disc plus one extra disc for the bonus material. Sounds good to me!

I'll stick with my 10 VCD's of it (until I can afford the DVD set because I would really like that 5.1 sound and the extras! )

Pretty steep? Okay $120 for 6 DVD's = $20 per DVD. Thats about average for what DVD's cost these days. True you have to spend it all at once, but its not a steep price per DVD.

I agree with nord plus it is oh so worth it. I just won't buy DVD's for a while and on November 5th I will buy that and Sports Night.

well amazon just put it up on their website tonite and, they have it preorder for 89.99 already, so i'm sure we'll be able to get it even cheaper in the not too distant future

my dad recorded the first three episodes off the HD feed onto minidv and then he put one of them onto dvd. looks pretty damned good, but no 5.1 though. we should have kept recording the whole series

this series was actually ok until David Shweiner or whatever his stupid name is showed up. Also started to really drag after a couple of episodes. I was disappointed, watch a real movie about war like Shoah, hollywood dramatizations can never give the story in the way that the real people can.
