Banana thread

After purchasing fresh bananas from the grocery store, I leave mine out for a few days (3-4) until the little black dots start appearing on the skin indicating that it is ripe and sweet and ready for consumption. I never refridgerate them as they turn bruised and nasty by the time I want to eat it. They are IMHO, best, when the black dots make about a 30% coverage of the yellow skin. Of course by then, it may start to attract fruit flies but damn it rocks.

I agree deathkoba. Yellow with some brown/black spots is the best.

I do not understand how people can eat a banana that is still green. Yuck..

got poll?

that is too ripe for me

i pretty much like them as soon as the skin is no longer green. nice and firm and not mushy/sweet, just not rock hard green

I can't believe I'm the first to do this...

:music:*ring, ring ring, bannana thread* Boop-boopy doop-be-doop.:music:

On a traffic Light Green means "Go" and yellow means "hold on"....but on a banana, its just the opposite; Green means "hold on" yellow means "go ahead" and red means 'where the fuck did you get that banana?"

yellow, with some brown spots so its sweet

from there you cut it into disks and squeeze some lemon and lime on them.

soooo good. you get that sensation of something thats going to be really really sour, then the banana smothers it with its yummy sweetness. soooo good, everyone needs to try this. i have no idea why i started doing this, it just happened one day, its really really good.

eeewwww!!! Green is good - not so green that you can't peel, but nice and hard. At the first hint of brown is when I can't eat it anymore!

Spotless bananas give me headaches. Spotted bananas, however, do not. Kind of peculiar.
