Alright, just a quick note that Rollo, everyone's "favourite" troll in video is up to his nonsense again, calling yet more people "failures in life."

What started out as a "well meaning" continuation of his torch-bearing quest to prove his video card is the greatest (Episode 200) turned into the usual flame-fest, with anyone opposing him being an idiot.

Ever occur to you that nVidia probably lost money on every unit due to low yields on 500MHz chips, higher layer PCB, elaborate copper cooling, and 1.6NS DDR2?

The fact of the matter is FSStrike, you will never in your life do anything close to the level of success the 5800U was.

You will never be second best in the world at anything, the company you work for will probably never be second best in the world at anything, hell, you and everyone you know would probably be lucky to 10,000th best in the world at anything.

Yet there you sit- flaming away at the engineering accomplishment of men 100X your better.

You want to talk "failure"? It's likely as close as your mirror even by standards 100X more lax than you're imposing on nVidia?

Or am I wrong and we'd all know your real name because you're the best at something and in some sort of position to cast stones at the second place effort?

This isn't the first time someone has had issues with his posting, either.


Despite his half-hearted 'apologies' his postings are not humorous, tonge-in cheeck or witty and he is not just trying to be affable with his posts. He's just lashing out at anyone and everyone and it's been going on for too long IMO.

BTW- what you posted above is my colorful way of calling FSStrike an "armchair quarterback". You see, when he rants on and on about the "failure" of the 5800U and how "terrible" it is, he's insulting 1000s of man hours by people who are among the best in their business.

I think it's fair to ask what he does, if he's among the best, and point out that it's statistically likely he's no where near the best. (and thus might think about slandering people who work at a much higher level of competence than he does)

If he can't complain about something untill he proves his high level competence, maybe YOU need to prove yours before you chastise him. According to statistics, you're likely "no where near the best" and, thus, by your own reasoning ought to STFU instead of personally insulting people (which, BTW, is supposed to be forbidden on this forum). And, NO! - you're neither amusing or cute with your constant personal insults to other members. "Statistically", YOU should be banned. Really, who cares how many fvcking vid cards you buy in a year.

This is just another BS word you use to dress up your ravings. It's not colorful, it's disrespectful.

Most of the FUD you post is fair game - it's just opinion so no harm done. But calling out every AT member (and particularly some of the kiddies) and calling them all failures in life is not something that should be tolerated. What if one of these guys actually takes that kind of crap to heart?

I'm hoping they take it to heart Jiffy.

I want them to be more tolerant of other people's hardware and not insult the people who created it, or that own it.

I was using their own lives to try to put them in the shoes of the people they're insulting, in hopes they'll recognize that producing something that is second best in the world is still better than almost everyone else, and not to be pointed at and decried, "You SUCK! You lost!".

ESPECIALLY when the "loss" is as trivial as <10% performance deficit at some settings, and winning at others.

My posting I agree with DHC that the 5800U is a cool card was in no way offensive to anyone. You and the rest who take it as an invitation to try to get me to change an opinion I'm entitled to have a problem.

If anyone should be banned here, it's you, and the rest who so vehemently try and convince anyone who bought an FX card they're mentally deficient and the world that nVidia somehow did it a disservice by not having the undisputable best card every single year.

You'll never hear me flame ATI like that, because I buy/use/like all their products. On page one of video right now you can see a post where I advise a guy that the PE is a better choice than a GT, and another where I advise the guy to buy a new 9700Pro.

Yet you and others with an "anti-Rollo" agenda rail on and on about how I'm some "nVidia employee".

You should consider the work I put into benching for people, the amount of time I put into giving unbiased advice, my occasional early access to products we all want to know about, my position as a trader who has given many here very fair deal, and all the times I've defended this board when people nitpicked their reviews for trivial mistakes before you open your big mouth whining,"Ban Rollo".

You point me at what you've done that's more useful here and I'll look. Till then, you should be ashamed.
