Philly Native here. If you live in a suburb of Philly like somewhere in Bucks County, then it's pretty nice. If you want to live deep in the city, I'd definitely live in Manyunk (although that depends on how old you are, its a college town.)

Philly has its really nasty parts though, probably as bad as Baltimore's.

Baltimore's inner city is much worse than Philly's.
I worked in both inner-cities.

philly rocks..there are really nice places in the suburbs as well as in the city itself to live in. it has its crappy parts but overall its a great place with a lot of history and other cultural attractions. also cheese steaks
