Baltimore PD Officer’s fist repeatedly assaulted by man’s face.

Poor guy. Must be hell to have nothing to do all day while collecting a paycheck. Talk about adding insult to fist injury.

I’ve been hearing he’s probably going to lose his job at a minimum. As for the second officer, very disappointed in his actions (or lack there of). It looked like for a moment he was going to stop it and then well...

Oh man.

That guy is done, or at least he'll be moved to another station. My guess, he's done. I went to school with a cop who lost his job because he was full of anger. Kicked a teen straight in the face. He had Napolean syndrome. Short guy. Lost everything. Tried to get his co-workers to stick up for him. No one did. lol. Spent some time in jail to boot. Back to this guy. You need to control the anger. That area looks difficult enough.

but but...

I think he’s OK with a couple quick jabs. Someone smacks you and it looks like they are ready to fight I think it’s acceptable to throw a few for sure. But the evidence here shows it will likely be the cop took it personal and his actions likely aggravated the circumstance and created the situation he got himself into.

Not under arrest? Check
Getting in the guys face and yellin about his attitude? Check
Touching him and squaring up? Check

Doesn’t take a scientist to figure out what happens next. It’s junior high statistics.

Cop will lose his job, at a minimum.

Yeah, I was thinking the same about the second cop. I thought he was going to step in but then he decided not to. I've read elsewhere that he might have been concerned with making sure the crowd didn't get involved while he was intervening, I'm curious as to what your thoughts are about that.

Poor bastard didn't even put his hands up to defend himself, which is a natural reaction when getting repeatedly punched in the face but would have probably just made his beating even worse.

One last question, do YOU think he should be charged with a crime? I'm glad we agree that he shouldn't be a cop at the very least, just curious how badly you think he fucked up.

My guess is tell the mayor the chief has to clean house pronto or fire him. If that doesn’t happen vote the mayor out.

As far as politicians generally go when it comes to the police, meet the new guy, same as the old guy. Not to mention that police unions/sheriffs are usually uber strong when it comes to influencing local elections and state elections.

There are huge protests all over the country over police abuse and besides lip service nothing has been done.

I broke my nose in two places, years ago. From now on, I stay out of those places. I can't tell you how many times my face, drunkenly hit a fist. Damn my face! 😀

Did the police union step up to his defense?

It would be malfeasance if they don't. When you pay dues you get representation in disciplinary matters. Having a Union is like having a lawyer.

As the article points out, these two have history. The cop just blew it, let the other guy get to him. He'll likely be fired, rightfully so, & his Union reps know it but they have to stand up for him anyway.

The cop has resigned. Guess he found out he wasn't really part of the club... wonder why?

Still an active criminal investigation. Cool, now we can send him to inhumane prison system, the justice just keeps flowing!
