Funny how they can suspend him with pay. That's basically saying, hey be an asshole all you want, we'll still pay your grumpy out of line ass.

And, I can't watch the one with the fourteen year old skater again - pisses me off.

LOL at his cute little car. I'd be he has more history than this given that he's in that area driving that little car and wearing those shorts in the first place. I can't imagine that's a desirable beat for a cop.

Pending internal investigation? What investigation? The guy is a complete dipshit and should be beaten and then fired.

The chief is always going to side with his boys and the mayor is always going to back him up. That's the way things work, unfortunately.

Just fire his ass. Why the fuck are police departments SUSPEND them? I can understand if there needs to be an investigation and it'll be wrong to fire someone, but there's so much evidence that this guy's an asshole. WTF is there to investigate? Does the chief of police and mayor need to be personally pushed around by a cop before they can take action?

Sooner or later, he's going to "accidentally" shoot someone in the face.

Cops have it easy when it comes to this. You fuck up, and end up getting PAID VACATION! If I drove a fork lift and accidentally knocked over a palette of Plasma TV's, I somehow doubt they would tell me "take a few weeks off with pay, while we figure out what to do"

There's proof this cop has been an asshole who abuses his power, yet they still need to look into it? I'm sure he'll be grieving at home - collecting pay while not working is the pits :(

Negative. He was suspended with pay. Watch the video again. The newscaster says so at the end.

Tell me about it! A few years ago I drove out to a sheetz to get a milkshake and a city cop pulled me over (I assumed I had a tail light out or something and quickly pulled into an empty parking lot to keep him off the side of the road) and questioned me about loud bass heavy music. I pointed to the hole in my dash where my cd player used to be (being repaired at the time) and informed him that it couldn't possibly have been me but that I did hear the music. He proceeded to go back to the squad car and returns with a noise violation ticket and then demands I pop the hood of my car and tell me that my intake system is illegal. I was pretty pissed at this point and informed him that the car (a 1990 nissan 300ZX) was a factory twin turbo and that they have twin throttle bodies stock but he didn't want to hear it and gave me a 2nd ticket and impounded the car. I, being the sane and logical person involved, took the case directly to court and armed with factory service manuals, receipts from UPS for the shipment of my cd player, and the original window stick from my Z presented my side of the case while the idiot cop said the motor "looked like something out of a magazine". The judge sided with ignorance at the city level, but I quickly took it to county and won soundly when the "protect his boy" effect wore off. The icing on the cake was the dumbass called in a normal wrecker instead of a flatbed (that I requested) and tore my front bumper off. I sued for 5 grand based on replacement of my bumber, intercoolers and piping that were damaged and value deprecation on a collectible vehicle that had previously still had factory paint and to be honest could have gone for much more (I covered for the rest of the estimate to paint the whole car instead of just a new bumper).

Cliffs: Cop was a jackass and the judge backed him up and it happens everywhere all the time

cops almost never get suspended without pay, even ones in LA who beat Rodney King ON VIDEO! They're rewarded with paid leave for being asshats.

The fucking cops in this world are pieces of shit. What is this country coming to? There are all these fucking shootings at these malls/campuses all the time. The people who are supposed to protect us are just as likely to violate our rights. There's a new fucking story every week that makes you shake your head and go "how the fuck did that guy become a cop, what a piece of shit".

Pisses me off.

Was just thinking about all the police brutality cases as of late. Now I'm not condoning their behavior - it's uncalled for, however, with all that's going on leads me to believe the pressure of being a police officer must be pretty great considering all the case of inappropriate behavior. In addition being paid so little for what they do. I mean, we can sit here on the outside and complain about it but what's the real problem here?

The problem is there are far to few restrictions on becoming a cop. Anyone jackass on a power trip can do it. On top of that the penalties aren't harsh enough when they do fuck up. Making a mistake is one thing. Manhandling a 14 year old KID for skateboarding is fucking ridiculous and not a mistake. That type of shit makes my blood boil so hot. I just want to fucking punch him in the gonads right now.

Police Officers should be held to the ABSOLUTE HIGHEST standards. If they are going to enforce the law, they need to lead by example.

Wow. Just wow. I would have been flipping out if I got my car impounded because of two things that were completely untrue.

What a jerk.

Well the link states

Officer Rivieri is suspended without pay pending the outcome of an internal investigation of the incident with the skate boarder.

He threatened to beat the guy up though, thats the problem. No cop should be allowed to threaten physical violence on a civilian. Fuck that shit and fuck that cop.

teh kicking the box and the car i really have no problem with and telling him toget the fvck out of there.

but yeah to threaten to beat him up was over the line. like i said put the two together you have a lot of proof he should not be a cop.

No way. That sack of shit has absolutely no right to damage the guy's property or to demand that he leave.

If (and I stress the if) driving an RC car with a box on it is illegal, the cop should have asked the guy to stop or ticketed him. And if it's illegal, Baltimore is an even bigger shithole than I previously thought.

What the officer did is like telling you to move your car because you're illegally parked and instead of just writing a ticket he bashes your windows and slashes your tires and tells you to GTFO.

You don't ever kick/destroy property. A good cop would've picked that crap up and yelled at the artist and at worst confiscated it. I would assume cops would just give that back to you and tell you to leave.
