Tell me about it! A few years ago I drove out to a sheetz to get a milkshake and a city cop pulled me over (I assumed I had a tail light out or something and quickly pulled into an empty parking lot to keep him off the side of the road) and questioned me about loud bass heavy music. I pointed to the hole in my dash where my cd player used to be (being repaired at the time) and informed him that it couldn't possibly have been me but that I did hear the music. He proceeded to go back to the squad car and returns with a noise violation ticket and then demands I pop the hood of my car and tell me that my intake system is illegal. I was pretty pissed at this point and informed him that the car (a 1990 nissan 300ZX) was a factory twin turbo and that they have twin throttle bodies stock but he didn't want to hear it and gave me a 2nd ticket and impounded the car. I, being the sane and logical person involved, took the case directly to court and armed with factory service manuals, receipts from UPS for the shipment of my cd player, and the original window stick from my Z presented my side of the case while the idiot cop said the motor "looked like something out of a magazine". The judge sided with ignorance at the city level, but I quickly took it to county and won soundly when the "protect his boy" effect wore off. The icing on the cake was the dumbass called in a normal wrecker instead of a flatbed (that I requested) and tore my front bumper off. I sued for 5 grand based on replacement of my bumber, intercoolers and piping that were damaged and value deprecation on a collectible vehicle that had previously still had factory paint and to be honest could have gone for much more (I covered for the rest of the estimate to paint the whole car instead of just a new bumper).
Cliffs: Cop was a jackass and the judge backed him up and it happens everywhere all the time
