After all the BS I went through... all it took was a simple email to the Regional VP and he responded within 5 minutes saying this...

I am truly sorry for any inconvenience the closing of Sandy Springs has caused you. I have requested our customer service department to contact you directly and cancel your membership. Please feel free to contact me directly if you do not hear from them within 30 days.
