Ballistix PC2-6400

I know it's not 8500 or 9600 stuff, but there are alot of novices or people on a budget, so I wrote a full review on the 6400 sticks. It's my first "proper" one......a more "traditional" review, so go easy on me. 🙂

Check it here:

REVIEW

It looks like a great first effort to me. One thing I noticed which is a site/structure error, not content related, is the first memory chart on page 4 is covered by the info down the right side bar on my view. I do like the layout of that chart though. Some people's charts are confusing but that format works well IMO.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. If you'd like me to review some Corsair, just send me a PM, I'd be more than happy to test drive a pair for you. Seriously. I'm hoping to get a new P5K Deluxe for testing, much better than the Giga DS3, but the PC2-6400 is geared a bit more towards the "mainstream OC'er", not the hardcore person. In any case though, I thought it illustrated the point well enough.

Ya, the site layout thing is weird......if you maximize your window then it's fine, otherwise it cuts off. Kinda stupid.

But thanks for the words Yellowbeard.

I'm at 1024 x 768 and with my window maximized it is still cut off. But, that certainly does not reflect on the quality of the article. Keep up the good work, the marketing people are always watching for thorough fair minded reviewers.

Very cool review. My 30" monitor shows the tables fine. 😉 WRT the ceiling that you hit - I think that's more of the chipset, or better yet, the board and BIOS issue. I haven't used the DS3 board but I remember reading about the FSB limit that the board would hit with Micron D9 chips.

I think you went overkill on the voltage. I've done 1067 5-5-5-15 at 2.1V stable on all four of my sticks. But either way, cool review. I need to try CAS3 at 800MHz and see how that goes.

Ya Lopri, I think you're right. I'm planning on getting a P5K Deluxe so I may end up doing a follow-up to see what FSB I can hit, etc.
