i don't understand... i've had them running together for over a year now and all of a sudden the sticks won't boot with the mobo. i swapped them with some sticks from a dell computer and all of a sudden everything works fine. They stopped working after i did a hardware shutdown (held power button after windows froze).

I feel like this kind of shit only happens with enthusiast hardware like the ballistix memory. anyone else feel the same way?

Modern ram seems delicate to me compared to the older stuff. As each new spec comes in to play, the ram gets more problematic. Crucial sucks in my experience. I've had 3 sets, and they've all gone bad. I have a 2gb set of Tracers sitting in my drawer, because it isn't worth sending back at the current ram prices. I'd just be getting another set of crappy Crucials in return anyway, so meh....

Don't feel bad, you're not alone.
Read the forums and you'll find more unhappy Ballistix owners.

Some good quality brands...

Corsair XMS
G.Skill
