Hey All, I just started playing Baldur's Gate (with the Tutu mod which upgrades it to Baldur's Gate II engine)

And I can not figure out how to cast a spell! I have a mage, have the spell Magic Missile "memorized" and the spell casting icon isn't clickable!

Am I missing something here? My mage really sucks with his staff!

Have you tried resting so the spells are usable?

If I remember right you had to do that in BG 2 but not sure if it's the same there.

if you have a wizard, you need to assign spells in your spellbook and rest before you can cast spells. known spells will appear on the right side of your mage book (W should open up the mage book). clicking on a spell will assign it to a memorized spell slot on the left side of the mage book. after resting, you'll be able to cast the spells you've memorized. hope that helps.

also note that you can only cast a memorized spell once per version of that spell memorized. Meaning that if you memorize Magic Missile, you can cast magic missile once before having to rest and memorize it again. and if u want multiple magic missile casts you need to memorize it for every instance of the spell you want to use. Well at least this is what I remember from playing it a long time ago, and what i remember of the DnD spell casting rules.

Also remember some types of armor which are equipable by dual/multi casters won't allow you to cast spells
