I just got the Collector's Edition. Is there any difference in the 4 main game discs (apart that they are gold, and have more colourful labels)?

I heard some people say it has more spells and items. If that's true, this means I need to uninstall my original BG2 installation and install the Collector's Edition CDs, no?

Thanx!

I thought it only had a few extra magic items etc on the 5th disk. I would be seriously annoyed if it had additional spells

The only in game difference is that the Collector's edition CD has got an additional merchant who sells very good items...but after lot's of people complained, you can now just download those merchant's at BG2 Dungeon. (You could ask your question at their Forum's too, there are lot's of BG2 geeks that are more knowledgeable than me there)

I don't have the collector's edition, but AFAIK you do not have to uninstall BG2, just install the files "Bonus CD Content" from the site I linked to, and your going to have anything that you would get with the Collector's edition. :)

Thanks MisterM. I was too cheap to buy the collectors version, I had to buy Diablo II at the same time. LOL

There were 2 different bonus CD's, each had a different special merchant: (but both are included in BG2Dungeon's file)

1 at the Copper Coronet (His name is Joluv)
1 at the Adventurer's Mart (Her name is Deidre)
