baldur's gate 3D acc. terribly slow

Hello,
I have creative riva tnt (an old piece of hw, I know) and I experience a bad slowdown when running bg II/Icewind Dale in hw accelerated mode. The weird stuff is that it is the 2D part that is slowing things down - in full screen, everythings OK, while the inventory is unbearably slow. I tried every possible detonator out there but they just do not solve the situation. Thanx for help.

Did you go into the game config and check out all the graphical acceleration settings?

Of course, I did. But there are not many settings one can change. I've tried them all anyway and no luck. I also installed all patches. And Icewind Dale does the same thing.
