my life is getting pretty rough right now, im working 40 hours a week as well as taking for 4 classes at a local university. its getting pretty tough, I don?t spend much time studying and did pretty bad on my first finance test. my econ class seems pretty tough and im afraid of how ill do on the upcoming test. Im not so worried about my MIS class or calc.

Now.. I have a pretty good full time job, i average 40-50k a year (its sales so my commission can fluctuate) but I have great benefits, 401, health, they are paying for about 90% of my education.

I don?t want to leave my job and lose my benefits, because I dont want to rack up any loans, I have 0$ debt but I do have a car lease and insurance payments. I live with my parents and help them out with the bills.

my dilemma is I can prolly get by school with crappy grades.. B's and C's if I keep going at this rate. but will that hurt me when I try to find a new career after I graduate? Or should I focus all my efforts on getting good grades and cut back with work?

This is my first semester at this university, I just transferred from a community college where I managed a 3.0 GPA, While working full time as well. I have this semester and 3 more to go to graduate and I plan on switching my major to MIS.

Buckle down and study. It sucks, but you will have no life. I've been doing work for the past 9 hours (Wed is my only day without classes) and I'm in a similar position to you.

I know exactly how you feel. All I want to do right now is watch TV and drink a beer.

I do the same things. Class from 9am till 12:30pm, then work from 3 to 11:30, sometimes my shifts are later. You just have to learn to deal with it or figure out a way that will allow you more time to do better.

focus on school and cut back on work. i work over 40 hours a week and i'm taking some intro econ and acct classes. i'd saying im doing good in school and so-so at work because i don't think my job will lead to anything.

didn't you learn about opportunity cost in your econ class? the benefits of getting all A's in school far outweighs your sales position. focus on the long term goal.
