Balance Transfers

If I charge $150 on my Citi Mastercard but want to balance transfer only $100 of that charge to a different credit card would that be possible? If so would it cost anything and is there a limit of how much you can balance transfer at one time?

Certainly possible. Fees depends on the card. Like a typical scenario would be being charged a 3% fee and interest starts building immediately.

Even if the card you use has 0% balance transfer fees for 12 months and the card you transfer it to has the same thing?

That's why he said it depends on the card.

The card it's coming from has nothing to do with it. If there is an offer for 0% interest for 12 months and no fees, then it's essentially free to move the balance over.

So the credit card I am transferring the balance to has to have no fees for balance transfers and 0% APR for it to be totally free? I know I just repeated what you said sorta but want to make sure I am not misunderstanding.

Correct.

So it is possible to balance transfer only a certain amount from Citi Mastercard of a total charge of $150. Like $100 instead of the whole $150 to a different credit card?

It is possible to transfer as much or as little as you want as long as it meets the minimum balance transfer amount. Some cards don't have one, others do.

Ok. What about doing this with more than one total charge ? Is it still possible or can it only be done one total charge and not all charges added up for different things that were paid for?

What do you mean one total charge? A balance transfer just has bank A pay bank B whatever amount you want, so you now have that amount with bank A. You're usually not limited on the number of balance transfers you can do though.

yes it is...but you'll get slapped with a fee. usually there is a minimum and maximum fee for transfering a balance.

Even with 0% balance transfers for the first 6 or 12 months ?

It will usually state that it has no fees, otherwise, it will more than likely have some.

If this is online, got a link?

I think you're confusing two aspects of balance transfers:

1) 0% APR is the "interest rate" which has nothing to do with the 2) balance transfer "fee" which is usually around 3%.

It's all in the fine print, just read it from top to bottom or call the credit card issuer and call them. Yes social human interaction :Q
