Market is plummeting. It's dropped over 200 in the last few minutes.

It looks like they're trying to hold the vote open but it would need more than 20 people to switch.

An economic reality some would argue was brought about by others pushing their ideology.

Interesting thought that.

Obviously you've bought into the "we're all gonna die" propaganda. The most effective tool in all of history for getting large populations to agree to immensely stupid policies/ideas is fear. Apparently it's working on you.

No doubt that's true (actually the same people that are shooting it down argued for deregulation). That doesn't change anything about the issue though.

Bridges to nowhere won't cut it anymore. Now they'll be giving away bridges FROM nowhere TO nowhere.

Have been paying attention to libor and other credit indicators last week? Japan had similar situation in the 80s, US had it in the 1930s...

Exactly. Anyone who actually understands the American economic system and isn't just a raving "Wall Street Sucks!" lunatic should be scared sh**less right now.

Once again politicians put their political survival over the good of the country and its people. I guess we shouldn't be surprised. What kills me is the folks who actually think this is going to hurt the multi-millionaires who made this mess. They'll sneak off and lick their wounds in secluded upstate mansions while the rest of us who depend on credit markets and paychecks every month will be in real trouble. This is only going to hurt those at the bottom and middle. Those at the top will brush it off and move on.

Oh, and for those of you on monthly pay cycles, there is a REAL chance you will not get a check tomorrow.

I think your laugh is going to come back to haunt you. The national and international credit markets are locking up. This isn't a matter of losing a few bucks on your Bank of America stock.

The real issue is whether we count today as a trigger to a recession or a depression.
