Got any info on this horrible new trend the MPAA has going right now? I went and saw "Kill Bill" this weekend and the film print I saw had 10 instances of that red dot protection.. Ruined the movie for me.. I had to fight to get my money back from the theatre because of it.

All I have been able to find out is, its new and its not been announced, but the word is the MPAA is now putting big red dots on frames of a film in patterns that are different print to print, so they can tell which print a pirate movie on the net came from.

So you will be watching a film and then BAM! 3-10 big red/brown dots are covering 25% of the screen for 3 frames anywhere from 3-10 times during a film.

I'm sorry, but if .000000000000000272728927323 seconds of a movie being disrupted is enough to ruin a movie for you, please stop watching movies.

Seriously. How fscking lame can somebody be?

3 frames? How many fps are films running at... I'd assume its 30?

So for 1/10th of a second there are dots? Doesn't seem too terrible to me.

Just under 25 frames, actually.
