Hmmm. I respect members and in particular NFS4, and I respect SunnyD for posting this thread and remaining civil. But I'm being attacked here where I don't think I should be. Just posting "RSI is a dumbass" is lame enough, and then simply quoting that, well that's even lamer, sorry to say. How about you post when you have something useful to say? That would be much better, I think everyone would agree. Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and yes, everyone would be happier if people put more thought into what they wrote.
So, you judge me by the two posts you saw me submit? I understand that you may not agree with me, but basing your opinion of me on two or three messages I posted on here... c'mon, I think that's a little unfair.
<< << me thinks rsi didn't read and thinks ms wants to charge for all email >>
me thinks RSI is a dumbass. >>
I think you're getting the wrong message here. I did read, and I know they aren't trying to charge for all email, I have used their service in the past and I currently keep an address with them to use with MSN messenger. I'm not a Microsoft slanderer/hater/basher, I simply believe that email (INCLUDING POP3/SMTP) should not cost money. I don't agree that it should cost money, it's that simple. Why do you have such a big problem with my opinion? Why does me thinking email should be free, make me a dumbass? Rethink it a little bit. I'm not saying Microsoft should give me everything for free. How's a company supposed to make money? Obviously they need to sell their products. Well, I just happen to disagree that email should be one of those products, because it's so common and easy to obtain. Anyway I don't want to argue about this, cause obviously some people simply can't handle the fact that my opinion is mine and I'm entitled to it.
Anyway, a comment on one of the replies.
<< 2MB may not be enough and since Yahoo gives 6MB, that's the only downfall for Hotmail... why's everyone complaining about their SPAM? You get SPAM with every email address unless you never use it (I never use my rh71.com email address for anything outgoing). >>
For most people, 2MB should be plenty of space. However, many people may surpass the limit and would like more space. There's no reason to need more than 6-10MB for email unless you're a very heavy user or keep lots of attachments in there. To address the issue of SPAM, how about a question : Where does it all come from? How does it find everyone's email address? Does MS automatically submit their emails to spam-engines? I doubt that. Are there scripts that automatically try emailing hotmail addresses and such? And you shouldn't just say "you always get spam with email", cause that's quite un-true. I have quite a few email addresses and I never get spam at any of them. I don't even get spam at my hotmail anymore, I used to - but it's stopped. I'm happy with my email accounts, they all function well, efficiently and quickly. I'm satisfied with the current hotmail service aside the fact that it's slow on dialup - given a broadband connection it's nice. No complaints. So please don't call me an MS basher, hotmail hater, or whatever name you have in mind relating to that.
Your personal feelings towards me really are not important, but I'd appreciate it if you have something like "you're a moron" or "RSI is a dumbass", if you could keep it to yourself. It doesn't reflect well on someone's level of maturity when they start calling people dumbasses, and even just quoting it and not even putting in worthwhile comment. Sad. I miss the old UBB days. 😉
This is a discussion about Microsoft's Hotmail service. Personal attacks should be left out, and people should respect others' opinions. What's so difficult with this?
Thanks for your time, I'm leaving this thread now.

PS: I am a college student - therefore I don't ALWAYS have time to be on AnandTech forums. I figured I'd put in a couple comments before class, and look what we have here? you look like a moron cause you haven't posted in a while! Give me a break. Stop jumping to conclusions, I didn't "run away".
