BAH! My monitor! NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, we have these really crappy monitors at my old work, for the crap computers. Their brightness levels were so off that you could turn the brightness way down and it would almost look like the monitor was off. With the brightness way up, you could only make out stark contrasts, like black and white, yellow on black, etc.

My monitor flickered, a little bit ago, and now it's like that. :Q The brightness is way up, but with the coal theme for AT, I can BARELY tell the difference between black and gray. It looks like a whole bunch of white boxes and type on a monitor that's off! :Q

WTF is this! Is my monitor dying! I tried turning it off, letting it sit for a few minutes, then turning it back on, but it didn't fix anything -or even make it better. Is it dying!? Would it be considered dead? Is this repairable!?

I just did. It didn't do anything. I've also left it off for almost a day.

Check to see that your video card did not f*ck up. . .and check the connection in the back from the monitor to the video card. Perhaps there is a short, or its falling off. Also check to see that you did not in advertantly mess with the rgb levels on the monitor, as well, check to see whatever video drives you have on, that some program did not alter them in any way.

Otherwise you might be suffering from. . .a semi dead monitor, at which point i would recommend getting a new LCD flat panel.
