Bah! So I'm heading home on the highway, light rain conditions, and chugging along through rush hour traffic at 65km/hr, not too fast due to volume and such... car in front of me abruptly stops, I try and come to a stop, but no go, end up rear-ending him, which actually pushes him into another car. Bah... ah well, just finished dealing with the insurance company, now gotta go get the report done and all.

But what surprises me the most is that my car, a 91 Dodge Shadow, sustained no damage aside from my front license plate holder popping off the bumper, while the car I rear ended, the entire tail light and bumper basically collasped in over their driver's side tire.

I mean it wasn't a high speed collision, it just boggles my mind, but I noticed there was A LOT of rust all around the back paneling / trunk / panelling, so I have a feeling that's what made it out to be much worse.

Whatever, shite happens, gotta deal with, just wanted to vent, it's been a long day.

I'm sorry to hear that you were:

1. Following too closely
2. Being inattentive
3. Combination of 1 & 2

Glad no one was hurt. Hope your insurance doesn't drop you. Hey, at least you don't have to work tomorrow, right?

Hey I was quite attentive, but following too closely, yeah I know, we make mistakes, then again, the guy in front of me was also following too closely, hence why he hit the guy in front of him.

I've done what you did tonight. That's how I learned.

I also keep one car length b/t me and the guy in front of me at stoplights or stop signs. I've been pushed into the guy in front of me. Probably by you. ;)

Good luck w/everything.

Well in the guys defense he might have noticed you couldn't stop so he tried to stop as close to the other car to give you more room.

It really is just luck not getting involved in an accident when every decideds to stop on the interstates.

Those Shadows are built like tanks.... sounds crazy, I know, but they are built heavier than they look. (But they feel heavy to drive. oh well.)

I hit a utility pole dead-center in my Sundance going 35MPH. I didn't even have a scratch. The pole had to be replaced. They are pretty good cars all things considered. I love my Civic, but I do miss that Sundance. RIP.
