I'm going to buy a bag, because i have to carry stuff with me.

i'm thinking this one.
I think it looks like a really nifty durable bag that could come in handy where ever in the world i might need to carry stuff.

before i order though, I realized i'll probably get crucified for buying one because i'm not actually a biking courier.

What do you haul your stuff around in? and what do you usually have with you?

to clarify: every day hauling, or whatever, tell me about your favorite bag :)

(not your favorite sack please)

backpack?
manbag?
bikebag?

Q: How do you pronounce MAN-n-BAG?

A: Any way you want. We pronounce it "man-bag."

Q: Where can I get MAN-n-BAG in the UK?

A: Unfortunately, only through the internet and shipping costs are really really high. Currently, we do not sell through any retail outlets in the UK but if you want to recommend one that we should consider, please send us their name and we'll look into it.

Q: Can I call this a "Man Purse"?

A: Definitely not, ?man purse? is an oxymoron.

Q: Can I call this a "Murse"?

A: Absolutely not, ?murse? is short for "merkin" + "purse" (...look it up on your own).

Q: Instead of the MAN-n-BAG, could I use one of those WWII style map cases that they sell in some army surplus shops?

A: The "map case" is only acceptable if you actually carry maps, clearly marked with the enemy position, and you have a cyanide capsule sewn into the lining in case you're captured.

Q: What?s wrong with fanny packs?

A: Lots of things: for example - "Fanny," and it's no longer the 80s. Fanny packs rate up there with cell phone belt clips. But if you like cute stringy things hugging your waist, wear them. Men wear MAN-n-BAGs.

Q: I've owned MAN-n-BAG for a month now and can't imagine life without it! I have one question though: Does this mean that I'm gay?

A: There is no link between MAN-n-BAG ownership and sexual orientation. If you're not sure about your sexual orientation, you might want to read the article at: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/.../context/defining.html

Q: Is MAN-n-BAG washable?

A: We wouldn't recommend machine washing, but you can easily wash your MAN-n-BAG with a wet cloth.

Q: Can women wear MAN-n-BAGs?

A: Only men wear MAN-n-BAGs. Have you ever seen a woman with a MAN-n-BAG?

Q: In what colors can I order MAN-n-BAG?

A: As of today, you can order your MAN-n-BAG in any color you want as long as the color you want is black.

like which bag do you use for every day stuff, but i'm also interested in what you use to backpack in too.

I have an older backpacking pack that I use that suits me fine, but if there was something crazy cool out there i could maybe use an upgrade ;)

If you do buy one for the love of god make sure it has 2 straps. One strap will mess your shoulders up.

Those chrome bags are nice. I was thinking of getting one for school, since I ride my bike everywhere I thought it would be handy. I've heard that last a lifetime and are well worth what they cost.

oh hmm..

if you go to asia (i went to taiwan, japan, korea...and every dude has one!!!!).

I felt that innate social uneasiness of being the oddman out, because I was the only one dressed in SD-style clothing (surfer tshirt, cargo shorts, flops) amid hordes of dudes wearing your typical ktown/china-town youth attire w/ manbags.

A messenger bag is cool. Your thread topic made me concerned that you were thinking about a manpurse.

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merkin

I use a plain 'ol over the shoulder backpack... I've had it since my sophomore year of high school (1996). it's pretty beat up (held together in some spots by safety pins), but it's seen a ton of miles and has a lot of character :)

I have that bag, which I use to store about 1,000 rounds of ammo for when I go shooting. Now THAT is a manly bag :)

I've been looking at those off and on for concealed carry because i have yet to find a holster that i find comfortable and conceals well. Plus, if I need to remove the gun, I wouldn't have to worry about the holster still being on my belt. It's also good for carrying other things.

i guess it depends on what you're carrying and how much. also how much room you have to store the pack when you're not wearing it. There are probably other factors as well

I have an all black timbuk2 messenger bag. I use it like a briefcase. Laptop + some papers. Every once in a while I use it to carry stuff while I ride my bicycle.

I have a Timbuk2 messenger bag, and I LOVE that bag.

I've been looking to get a Timbuk2 Commuter bag, for my laptop, day to day stuff... my problem is i want to wait till my current timbuk2 wears out but it's been 4 years and still looks pretty new so it might be awhile before I can buy a new bag, the only downside so far. =\
