Baffling...new PC gets terrible scores

new machine I just put together via Ibuypower. I just ran 3dmark05 1.20 and got a terrible score of 4600.
based on what I've read I should have at least a 6500-8000.
As a side note I ran PCMark05 and got a 4500. (I applied the AthlonXP patch).

My specs:
Processor: Athlon-64 X2 3800+ CPU w/ HTT (not OCed)
Mobo: (Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI nVidia nForce4-SLI) Bios dated 6/21/05
Card: nvidia 7800GT 465/1.1 (no SLI on the card) using latest 78.03 forcewares
Mem: 2048 MB [1024MB X2] DDR-400 PC3200
250 GB HARD DRIVE Maxtor 250 GB 7200 RPM Ultra ATA-133 16MB Cache Hard Drive
MS Windows XP Home Edition w/Service Pack-2 and all updates

I ran with the 78.03s (latest betas for Call of Duty 2) set to Fast performance
1028x764
No AA/AF in Foirceware
No Vsync in Forceware
No antivirus or other background tasks were running
I rebooted and let it run after closing any background tasks.

Baffled. Can anyone help? Much appreciated in advance.

PS: I don't have an additional vid card to run it SLI yet. When the price drops I will. 🙂
