Someone definitely took Ron Burgandy's advice here, and lived because of it! Having a pastime that allows you to practice managing that adrenaline flow is, I agree, probably why he survived. Pretty sure a couch potato would have just stood there frozen in fear, a piss and shit drenched dinner seconds later.

That's why you take a bear pistol with you when you go to elk camp guys, less jousting.
