On one of my vehicles the power window on the driver window doesn't work right. I haven't tried rolling it down because it may not go back up. The last two times I rolled it down it stopped working and it final went up each time at random times trying. I took the panel off and the switch looks fine, good contact but have not checked the motor out. I am guessing it is the motor, what do you think?

Apply power to the motor bypassing the switch.

On some cars it is a half hour job to change out the motor.

Others a 3-4 hour plus replacing the knuckles on the hand.
Done both - never again.

Window motor replacement on my golf cost $600 or so. I'm sure the Civic is cheaper but they can be a bitch to replace. If you're lucky, it's a relay, fuse or something else simple. Otherwise it's a regulator or motor.

Just be sure you aren't pushing the window lock button by accident if you had one. I had a yaris where I'd keep hitting the window lock button and then think the motor was dead. Just had to hit that button before realizing I hit it with my elbow.

I did one on my old 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Was fairly easy to do, IMO.

I am sure it all depends on make/model, but I believe mine cost $50 or so and took about an hour. I have heard from several though that the aftermarket motors don't last very long. I wouldn't know as I sold that vehicle.

More likely the regulator. Do you hear noise when using the button? If you do then its the regulator.

My rear-driver's side rear window wouldn't work...no click no nothing...
I pulled into the dealer to get an estimate...but before I did I pulled the under-dash fuse and it looked good...I pulled the adjacent same-designated fuse...looked the same...switched them...still no click no nothing...

Soooo, I went to the service advisor and got the estimate...not that I was planning to do it there but wanted to see/hear what he would "advise."

I thanked him and drove off...and a quarter-hour later I tried the window again...and it works!...I guess the shock of the repair scared it straight!

Or maybe it was just a bit of oxidation/corrosion on the tips of the fuses...who knows...just glad it's working...
