I threw a penny off a ride in Canada's Wonderland before when I was small. It was actually a handful of pennies with my friend. It hit some lady down at the botton in the face and mashed her up pretty good. They stopped the ride and kept everyone locked into their seats for like 20 minutes until they reviewed the security tapes and caught me and my friend. We got banned from the park for 5 years or so and our season passes got taken away.

Well that sounds like quite a bummer, I think I'd let the park know ASAP.

On the other hand I bet I had a worse weekend. I was with my friend in Cozumel and he managed to get his toe mashed by our scooter's kickstand, the toenail cut through his big toe and started it bleeding like you can't imagine, he lost so much blood by the time we got him back to the ship that I had to give blood or he would have risked long-term injury from the loss. The cruise ship's hospital didn't have his type, fortunately I have type O.

BTW, how do you know it was metal? If it really was metal at 128Mph, it would have been more than a sore nose. I'd bet it was a bug or something.

My thoughts exactly, say a bolt hit your wife at 128mph..id be highly shocked if it didnt go through her head completely, let alone bounce off.

Umm smart guy the ride doesn't go at 128 MPH the whole time that is its top speed.

Ya I learned my lesson, that was a retarded thing to do, and I blame my friend for it, he was the one with all the ideas.

I laughed.. seriously. Ok, it's not funny. I'll stop laughing and continue reading about extrinsic semiconductors and thin film growth.

why weren't you at the hospital immediately. A piece of metal at high speed, not to mention random hunks of metal dropping off of roller coasters.

Your wife NEEDS to tell someone in Park Management. As a former theme park employee I can tell you that there is a lot of liability for both parties if nothing gets said.

You should have had it looked at right away - because if it IS broken, and you're waiting that long, it will just do more damage in the long run.

I didn't go complaining because this would cause her to go more emotional.

It isn't just about venting. If stuff is falling on people during the ride, that could be life threatening. It was kind of irresponsible to cower away like that.

and goes up to 128mph....

Yikes! If something is falling, and you're going 128mph, then that is the same as you standing still and something flying at you at 128mph. That would HURT. I'm sorry to hear your wife got traumatized by this experience. :(
