bad week. one month old sick =(***update***

This has been a bad week. I have a 1 month old baby girl that has been in and out of the hospital all week =(

About half the time when she eats she throw?s it back up. The local hospital says she has acid reflux and she is lactose intolerant. Well we stopped breast feeding her and went to formula that stuff didn?t work. So then they put her on a different brand that is $25 for a 14 oz jar of powder and that didn?t work!

So tomorrow we have appointment with a specialist and just by talking over the phone he thinks she might have to have surgery =(

It has not been a good week.


On a side note i had to go to the local clinic to get her records and they WOULD not give them to me until my wife went and signed a paper saying I could get them! When she was born I couldn?t even look at the birth records till my wife said I could! That is wrong! Grr

I've got a 2 YO and a 10 MO and the worst thing for a parent is to see their child hurt or suffer.

My daughter had similar problems when she was little, turned out it was a pancreatic cyst which was large enough to cause stomach problems.
It took over two years for the doctors to figure it out.
Good luck and hang in there.
Also look after yourselves, its draining on both parents when a wee one is ill.

well we took her to the specilist. he said that theyshouldnt have put her on the formula they did. the Alumenta (think thats spelled right) is really fine stuff. it has a real liquid state to it. so he sugested getting a thick one that has extra rice.

He also put her on a medication but not sure what it is. and he is going to do a upper gi next tuesday morning to make sure nothing is wrong.

But he thinks if we put her on the thicker formula she will stop the gagging and such. hopefully this works!
